Volunteers are also needed in various capacities and at many levels.  Do you have passion, skills and the desire to make a difference?  While our needs change with the time of year and specific projects, these are frequent needs:

·         Financial

·         Marketing

·         Board and volunteer development

·         Basic computer training

·         Building and maintaining websites

·         Social networking (i.e. website, listserves, Facebook)

Please contact Cyndie Hall, Executive Director, if you can assist in any way.  Together we can make a difference.

History of Neighborhood Network

History

A learning and sharing network empowering people to strengthen Rockford area neighborhoods

Several years ago the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois brought together representatives of some of the neighborhoods and initiated an idea that neighborhood groups learning, sharing and networking together could help each become stronger individually and together create a community coalition of neighborhood groups.

The City of Rockford Human Services Department provided start up funding and in the first year of operation Neighborhood Network identified and mapped over 100 groups, held an introductory conference of neighborhoods, helped startup neighborhood organizations and connected organizers to helpful resources such as neighborhood grants and city services for the neighborhoods.

To grow the network and showcase the neighborhoods, groups are encouraged to share announcements and news of their neighborhood activities via the website. Neighborhood Network has also put together a schedule of workshops for neighborhood representatives. Besides learning new ideas, these programs foster community-wide networking by learning and sharing together.
